Statement from the School Principal
Following our Ofsted inspection on the 24th-26th November 2021, we have learned that unfortunately, Ofsted has judged the provision at The Bridge SEN School as Inadequate in terms of Overall Effectiveness.
We were advised verbally that their report would indicate that whilst we were performing well in several areas, they had concerns that would require improvement. As a result we immediately revised our School Development Plan to address all the points raised. You will see from the attached copy that we have already completed the majority of the points raised and are working towards achieving the outstanding improvements.
We are committed to providing the best service for our learners and those in our care.
The report has highlighted a number of strengths observed during the inspection and we are confident that these can be built upon. We received positive results in both behavior and attitudes and the inspector noted that the students have positive relationships with our caring staff, who help provide structure, routine and predictability and manage incidents.
Our Senior Leadership Team has reviewed and revised our Safeguarding policies and procedures and has a sound understanding of what more needs to be done to ensure the school’s standards will be raised. This includes a thorough revision of our training and CPD schedule to ensure every member of staff is fully prepared to support our learners.
We of course remain receptive to any additional suggestions from all parents about how the school can move forward and continue to welcome feedback.
Please read the report and our corresponding action plan below.
